Before you reach out
Calling
- Customer’s make, model, year — and VIN if you have it
- FD SKU of the key you’re attempting to program
- FCC ID stamped on the existing key (if present)
- Programmer name + version (e.g. AutoProPad G2)
- What happened at what step — exact error or behavior
Emailing
- Include FD SKU in the subject line
- Photos of the key, FCC ID stamp, and programmer screen
- Vehicle make/model/year; mention push-to-start or twist-ignition
- Whether keys exist in the vehicle already (helps with PIN flow)
Remote support for the AutoProPad G2
When remote review is the right path, we can use your AutoProPad G2 support session to see what the programmer sees — and walk through the next step with you. Call and we'll send connection details.
Programming the AutoProPad G2
When a product has programming notes, use the make/model/year and key-type guidance on its detail page. Training resources cover common key families. If you're following the available steps and it still won't program, it's usually one of:
- The vehicle has hit its key-count limit.
- Nearby keys creating RF interference — clear the cabin.
- Vehicle needs constant 12V power during programming.
- Dead fob battery, damaged transponder chip, or prior ECU tampering (e.g. aftermarket remote start).
- The G2 may succeed on a second or third attempt after you clear the causes above.
If the next attempt still fails, call us.
Missing PINs & code-retrieval
If the programmer asks for a PIN it doesn't have, call tech support. We provide the external PIN and walk you through the make-specific procedure. For vehicles where no key exists to copy, the process for obtaining a key code runs through us; some vehicles require two keys to program correctly.
Key compatibility & substitutions
Two FD#s that look identical can be engineered for different ignition types — always read the product title, not just the image.
If you're tempted to use a visually similar core-assortment key as a substitute, we need three matches first: part number, FCC ID (stamped on the shell or under the emergency blade), and button layout. Chips inside can differ even when shells look the same.
Gymkhana 994 cutting issues
- “Incorrect jaw” error: ~99% of the time the tracer pin is bent. Check that first. Jeep blanks occasionally need a different jaw — watch for that prompt.
- Calibration: recalibrate if errors persist after setup — shipping can knock it out. The calibration video is in the training section.
- Shoulder stop: blue rectangle on the placement screen means use the shoulder stop. The machine prompts you to remove it and then starts cutting.
